One thing that we have seen in the smartphone industry from the past few years is that there are no groundbreaking innovations happening as such. We are only seeing new smartphones being launched in the market with iterative changes. That can be said about almost all the smartphone manufacturers right now be it Samsung, Apple or anyone else.
Talking about iterative changes, we saw the same with Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S10 series. We saw that Samsung’s Galaxy S10 came with slimmer bezels, a new camera addition and new features compared to its predecessor. Now, this is not an addition that will force you to buy a new phone in under a year as the previous one is almost the same. For this reason, we feel that the smartphone upgrade cycle has changed and people are now upgrading their smartphones in a 2-year or even 3-year cycle.
So if you are using a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S8 series, we feel that the Galaxy S11 series will be when you would want to upgrade your smartphone. Talking about the Galaxy S11 series, we know that the devices will be revealed in the first half of 2020 by Samsung. In fact, Samsung will release its Galaxy S11 series by the end of February next year.
The first details regarding Samsung Galaxy S11 have now surfaced as per a report from Galaxy Club which reveal that the phone will have an sAMOLED display. Apart from that, a taller display is also expected on the devices which will have a 20:9 aspect ratio. We also expect to see a higher refresh rate display on the Galaxy S11 series which should have a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate. The most interesting addition, however, would be 5G support on the devices which is expected on most of the smartphones releasing next year.
